What is Spodumene Acidizing Kiln?
The spodumene acid kiln is an industrial equipment dedicated to the processing of spodumene concentrate. It converts spodumene into a form of extractable lithium through acid roasting technology. In the process, spodumene is first ground to a fine particle size, then mixed with concentrated sulfuric acid in a specific proportion, and roasted in an acid kiln at a temperature of 250 to 300°C. This process causes the β-spodumene in spodumene to react with sulfuric acid, and the lithium ions are replaced by hydrogen ions to form lithium sulfate (Li2SO4) that is soluble in water. After the roasted clinker is cooled, lithium compounds such as lithium carbonate are extracted through subsequent processes such as water leaching, which are used in industrial fields such as batteries, ceramics, and glass. The spodumene acid kiln is the core equipment in the modern lithium chemical industry and is crucial for the efficient and environmentally friendly extraction of lithium resources.
