What is Spodumene Acidizing Kiln?
The spodumene acidification kiln is an industrial equipment specially designed for processing spodumene ore, mainly used for the acidification and roasting process of spodumene. This kiln adopts a rotary kiln structure and can process spodumene concentrate that has been pre-treated (such as crushing and grinding). In the kiln, the concentrate is mixed with concentrated sulfuric acid in a specific ratio and acidified and roasted at a controlled temperature (about 250 to 300 degrees Celsius) for about 30 to 60 minutes. In this process, the β-type spodumene in spodumene reacts with sulfuric acid, and the lithium ions are replaced by hydrogen ions to form lithium sulfate (Li2SO4) that is soluble in water. The acidified clinker is then cooled and lithium compounds such as lithium carbonate, lithium hydroxide or lithium chloride are extracted through subsequent processes such as water leaching, which are used in battery manufacturing, ceramics, glass and other industries.
